Frequently Asked Questions
Before you book
-
Every Little River session includes your time in the studio, access to a carefully curated collection of wraps, outfits and props, professional editing, and your complete edited gallery as high-resolution digital downloads. Alongside your gallery, you'll receive a beautiful slideshow set to music—a lovely way to relive your session and share this special chapter with the people you love. There are no hidden costs and no need to choose between your favourite photographs.

Many families choose to book after their 20-week scan, as I only take a limited number of sessions each month. If your little one is already here, don't worry—it's never too late to get in touch, and if I have availability, I'd love to welcome you.
-
Little River is designed for babies in their earliest months, before they're sitting independently or on the move. Rather than working to strict age limits, I recommend choosing the right time based on your baby's stage of development.
For those sleepy, curled-up photographs, the first two weeks are ideal. Older pre-sitting babies are just as welcome, with sessions focusing on their bright eyes, first smiles and growing personalities.
If you're unsure whether Little River is the right fit, I'd always be happy to chat.
-
Little River specialises in babies before they're sitting independently or on the move. The studio has been carefully designed around this stage, creating a calm, cosy environment that's perfect for sleepy newborns and older pre-mobile babies. As little ones become more active, they naturally need more space and a different style of session, which is why Little River focuses on these precious early months.
-
Absolutely. While many families book during pregnancy, it's never too late to get in touch. If I have availability and your little one is still at the right stage for a Little River session, I'd love to hear from you.
Before your session
-
The most important thing is that your outfits feel comfortable and feel like you.
Soft, neutral tones photograph beautifully and complement the cosy, timeless feel of the studio, but there's no expectation to dress a certain way. If your baby has a favourite outfit or there's something special you'd love them to wear, I'd much rather capture that than dress them as someone they're not.
I have a small collection of beautiful newborn outfits available to use if you'd like, but you're equally welcome to bring your own. Sentimental keepsakes, such as a hand-knitted blanket or a special teddy, are always welcome too.
Before your session, I'll send you a short questionnaire so I can get to know your family and the style you'd love your photographs to have. If you're ever unsure, I'm always happy to help.
-
Very little. Just bring the everyday essentials for your little one, such as nappies, everything you need for feeds, and a dummy if they use one.
Everything else is ready and waiting at the studio, including wraps, blankets, beautiful newborn outfits and carefully chosen props.
If there's a sentimental keepsake you'd love to include, such as a hand-knitted blanket or a special teddy, I'd be delighted to incorporate it into your photographs.
-
Yes. There's plenty of free parking right outside the studio on the private, gated farm, making it easy to arrive with your little one and everything you need.
The studio, toilet and baby changing facilities are all on one level, so there's no need to worry about steps or walking far once you've arrived.
-
Sessions take place at 10am, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday Mornings, when the studio is at its calmest and filled with beautiful natural light. Starting at 10am also gives everyone a little time to ease into the day before heading over.
After Your Session
-

-
You'll receive a minimum of 15 beautifully edited images, although many galleries contain considerably more.
Every image I carefully edit is included in your gallery, so there's no need to choose between your favourite moments or worry about hidden costs.
Your photographs will be delivered in a beautiful online gallery with a complimentary slideshow, where you can easily download your images in high resolution and share them with family and friends.
During Your Session
-
Don't worry at all. There's no expectation for your little one to sleep, and awake babies are just as beautiful to photograph. Tiny stretches, curious expressions and those first smiles often become some of the most treasured images. We'll simply follow your baby's lead and capture this special chapter exactly as it unfolds.
-
That's completely expected. Every session is baby-led, with plenty of time for feeding, cuddles, changing and comfort breaks whenever your little one needs them. There's never any rush—we'll simply take everything at your baby's pace.
-
Absolutely. Family photographs are always encouraged, but never expected. We'll plan exactly what you'd like before your session, and take everything at a pace that feels comfortable for everyone.
-
Your morning is yours. Rather than booking a fixed time slot, the studio is reserved exclusively for you for up to four hours. Most sessions are much shorter than this, but every baby is different, so there's plenty of time for feeding, cuddles and comfort breaks whenever they're needed. There's never any pressure to rush.
